Our website address is: https://hseready.com. We are a platform dedicated to providing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) training and resources.

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Registration: When you register for an account on hseready.com, we collect personal information which may include your name, email address, and password (which is hashed).
  • User Profile: You may voluntarily add more information to your user profile, such as a biography, job title, or profile picture.
  • Comments: When you leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
  • Contact Forms: When you use our contact form (e.g., via WPForms), we collect your name, email address, and any message you send so that we can respond to your inquiry.

B. Training and Progress Data (Service Data)

This is the primary data we collect to make our platform functional.

  • Quiz & Module Progress: We collect and store information directly related to your training. This includes which “Study Material” posts you have “Marked as Read,” which modules you have completed, and your scores on quizzes. This data is stored in your user profile to track your progress and issue certificates.
  • AI Generator Content: When you use the “AI Module Content Generator,” the source text you provide is sent to a third-party API (Google’s Gemini) to be processed. We do not store this source text after the content is generated. We strongly advise you do not submit any sensitive personal, financial, or proprietary company information into the AI generator.

C. Data We Collect Automatically

  • Cookies: We use cookies to enhance your experience.
    • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These last for one year.
    • When you log in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks.
  • Embedded Content: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) from other websites. This content behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party services that are essential for our site to function.
    • Google: The text you submit to the “AI Module Content Generator” is processed by Google’s Gemini API.
    • Gravatar: An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Their privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
    • Spam Detection: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (like Akismet).
  • Password Resets: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law.

4. How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically.
  • Registered Users: For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile (including all training and quiz progress data) indefinitely. This is necessary to maintain your training records and certificates. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal profile information at any time (except they cannot change their username).

5. Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you have the right to:

  • Request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
  • Request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes (such as records of completed training or compliance data).

6. Children’s Privacy

Our service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
